Amazon Web Services (AWS) has received the National Health Service (NHS) Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) certification. The United Kingdom’s NHS DSPT assessment is an online tool for organizations to assess themselves against the National Data Guardian’s (NDG) ten data security standards. The NDG works with England’s Department of Health and Social Care to ensure data in the health and adult social care system are confidential and protected.

• What does this mean to me as a customer?

  All organizations that access NHS patient data and systems are expected to use the toolkit to demonstrate their compliance with safe data security standards. NHS DSPT covers standards regarding Personal Confidential Data, Continuity Planning, IT Protection, and more.

• How often is NHS DSPT compliance reviewed?

  NHS DSPT compliance is reviewed on an annual basis.

• Can I get a copy of the NHS DSPT certification?
