With Amazon Lookout for Metrics, you only pay for what you use. There is no up-front commitment or minimum fee. Amazon Lookout for Metrics automatically analyzes the metrics you care about, detects anomalies in those metrics, sends automated alerts, and can help you determine the severity of anomalies and their root cause. Examples of metrics include number of online orders per hour, number of website visits per day, or key user activities per hour (e.g., addition of products to the shopping cart or account logins).
When using Lookout for Metrics, you will be billed for the number of metrics analyzed during a month, irrespective of the frequency at which they are analyzed. For example, orders per hour will be billed at the same price as orders per day. You will not be billed for any data used by the service to train ML models.
You will be billed at the end of each month based on the tiered pricing structure described below. As the number of metrics you analyze increases, the price you pay per metric goes down. Note that if no data points for a metric are analyzed by the service during a month, you will not be charged.

Pricing Examples
Example 1
A retail customer tracks revenue from their ecommerce website as a key measure of the health of their business. A sudden dip in revenue could indicate an underlying issue, like a website outage, shopping cart failure, or a promotional offer not working as expected. An unexpected spike could be indicative of unlocking a new customer segment or a highly successful marketing campaign. The customer wants to stay on top of these changes so that they can solve a problem or double down on an opportunity quickly. They use Lookout for Metrics to analyze revenue metrics for the top 100 products and 10 geographic regions. The total number of unique metrics analyzed by the customer is computed as follows:
1 (Revenue) x 100 products x 10 regions = 1,000 metrics. Based on the tiered pricing calculation described below, 1,000 metrics per month is billed at $750 per month.

Example #2
The customer decides to analyze number of orders in addition to revenue, as they find that a sudden change in revenue is often caused by a change in number of orders placed . They also increase the number of geographic regions analyzed from 10 to 50. The total number of unique metrics analyzed by the customer is computed as follows:
2 metrics (Revenue, Number of Orders) x 100 products x 50 regions = 10,000 metrics. Based on the tiered pricing calculation described below, 10,000 metrics per month is billed at $4,000 per month.

Example #3
The customer now wants to detect anomalies in revenue and orders for each of their 5 user age groups (18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55 and above) for 100 products and 50 regions. 10 out of the 100 products are discontinued after the first week of the month, and are not analyzed after that. In addition, 10 new products are introduced in the third week of the month, and are analyzed for half of the month. The total products analyzed during the month is 110. The total number of unique metrics analyzed by the customer is computed as follows:
2 metrics (Revenue, Number of Orders) x 110 products x 50 regions x 5 user age groups = 55,000 metrics. Based on the tiered pricing calculation described below, 55,000 metrics per month is billed at $9,750 per month.

Example #4
The customer wants to use Lookout for Metrics to detect anomalies in their historical order rate data and compare them against anomalies they are already aware of. To do this, they analyze historical orders data for 100 products and 10 regions using the service. The total number of metrics analyzed is computed as follows:
1 metric (Order Rate) x 100 products x 10 regions = 1,000 metrics. Based on the tiered pricing calculation described below, 1,000 metrics per month is billed at $750 per month.
