Overview
This AMI allows you to deploy Chromium and the browser automation framework Playwright to a NodeJS Lambda function. Start an instance of this AMI, configure an IAM user for deployment, and run the predefined code in this instance. Scale Playwright to infinity by using this serverless architecture.
We offer the following deployment options:
- Deploy a minimalist Chromium build to Lambda's default NodeJS runtime (cold startup time around 5 seconds) - includes some minor adjustment to the Playwright framework.
- Deploy full-featured Chromium via custom Docker images (cold startup time up to 40 seconds) - uses pure Playwright without any workarounds.

Launch the instance

Create an IAM user allowing deploying to Lambda using SAM

SSH into instance and navigate into /home/ec2-user/playwright-lambda
