Overview
Java applications use different versions of OpenJDK, starting from version 8 through the latest 15. This AMI has all the stable versions of OpenJDK pre-installed. All you need to do before running the workload on an EC2 node spun up from this AMI is to point JAVA_HOME to the correct location.
Kurian has released pre-configured software applications such as Wordpress, Jenkins, databases, LAMP stack, Ansible, DevOps tools, and monitoring applications that are widely used by system administrators and DevOps engineers. For selected Linux distributions hardened images based on CIS benchmark are also available. The Kurian AMIs are built following official installation steps so you do not need to learn any custom procedures if additional configurations need to be done.

Usage instructions
- When the EC2 node spun up from this AMI is ready check the version of default Java installed.
- If a non-default version of Java is needed, point JAVA_HOME to the needed version by pointing to an appropriate JDK installation under /opt/java.
