    Overview

    MCCS (Mantech Continuous Cluster Server) is a High Availability (HA) Duplexing Solution for continuous service of corporate computer systems. Service interruptions due to natural disasters, system errors, operator errors, etc. cause enormous cost losses and affect a company's social image and economic value. Additionally, planned service interruptions such as system changes and backups also incur cost losses. MCCS minimizes downtime in these situations and provides infrastructure stability that maximizes service availability by automatically restoring the same level of service in the event of a failure.

    Key terms

    • Resource: Minimum unit of hardware/software managed by MCCS
    • Resource group: A set of resources required to operate as a single service.
    • Node: Unit of cluster configuration, virtual/physical server with MCCS installed
    • Two Node Cluster: A "Two node cluster" is a cluster consisting of two nodes. The two nodes are composed of an operation node and a standby node and operate like a single system.
    • Single Node Cluster: A "Single node cluster" is a cluster of one node. Unlike a double node cluster, it consists of one node, so failure detection is only possible.
    • Heartbeat: Communication act of transferring status information and commands between duplicated nodes
    • Failover: The act of allowing the service to operate on a standby node in the event of an operating node failure.

    Among the various resources that can be configured in MCCS, the three resources below are for allocating IPs that enable communication between cluster nodes to VM instances in the AWS environment.

    You can register the AWS functions below as MCCS resources and detect when status abnormalities occur.

    Pricing and entitlements for this product are managed outside of AWS Marketplace through an external billing relationship between you and the vendor. You activate the product by supplying an existing license purchased outside of AWS Marketplace, while AWS provides the infrastructure required to launch the product.     An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    This is a demo image that allows you to check the functions of MCCS.

    You can configure a resource group in a single node cluster through the process below. After registering a resource group, when the resource group is online, the resources registered in the group are monitored. To check whether it is being monitored, try causing a failure to the service resource in step 8 below. Three online attempts are made for the failed resource, and if the resource failure is not resolved during the process, it is determined to be a final resource failure.

    1. Access the MCCS web console.
    2. Register "Resource Group".
    3. Add a "Network Card resource".
    4. Add a "Network Address resource".
    5. Add a "Application resource".
    6. Add a "Service resource".
    7. Online "Resource Group".
    8. Terminate the services registered in "Service Resources" in System Terminal and check the MCCS web console.

    The license included in the AWS MCCS AMI is a temporary license. Please contact info@mantech.co.kr  for product purchase and consultation.
