Launch a VM instance with this Amazon Machine Image (AMI) to start your own Linux Desktop in the cloud in less than 5 minutes. This server image provides you with a Xfce Desktop Environment for Amazon Linux 2. You can connect to the virtual display via RDP or VNC.
To keep the VM as clean as possible we have kept the installation to a minimum (no additional tools were installed other than Mozilla Firefox for internet access so that you can get started with your custom software installations out of the box).

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Login Credentials Username: ec2-user Password: Use your Instance ID as the password for both RDP and VNC connections (e.g., i-0ed22c98429479e1c).
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) Connection
- Start the RDP client on your local machine.
- Connect to the public IP address of your instance, specifying port 3389.
- When prompted, input the credentials outlined in the Login Credentials section.
Virtual Network Computing (VNC) Connection
- Launch the VNC client on your local machine.
- Connect to the public IP address of your instance using port 5901.
- When prompted for a password, refer to the one mentioned in the Login Credentials section.
