Cribl Stream is a vendor neutral, purpose-built processing engine for data security and IT operations focused on centralized parsing and processing of event data. Take any event source and use Stream to route, optimize, reformat, enrich, or otherwise structure data intended for any destination in flight. This means you get the right data, where you want, in the formats you need.
Cribl is licensed on a per Gigabyte (GB) license which translates to Cribl Units when purchasing through the AWS Marketplace.

Log in as follows:
- Cribl Stream UI: http://<ec2_ip>:9000
- Username/password: admin/leader_ec2_instance_id . The SSH port is disabled by default on the Security Group, it is recommended that you use other methods to log into the CLI if you need to make changes. The default user for SSH is changed from ec2-user to cribl. SSH: Use an EC2 keypair to login using the cribl username, for example, ssh -i pem-file-path cribl@private_ip_address

I somehow missed taking a photo with the goat mascot!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using cribl to focus on what data to send to "another" SIEM. So I'm able to ingest what I need into cribl, parse it up, enrich it, and shoot it over to my data lake and if it's relevant send it to my SIEM as well. This saves millions of dollars on ingest into the other product, and offloads a lot of the brunt of the work.

I really like the ability to scale/enrich/transform/and even route date coming in from multiple avenues to handle huge amounts of data in a very efficient way.

I think the only thing that stands out is potentially the time to learn the tool and how to properly use it.

It helps with the efficient of some alerts like our Crowdstrike FDR alerts.

Stream allows the gathering and curating of many different kinds of logs in one place. This makes observability a breeze.

There really is no downside to Cribl Stream.

It allows us to curate logs to reduce noise and spending
