tcVISION MBI for AWS is the efficient and secure solution to transfer application data from a mainframe to your AWS targets without any mainframe impact. Neither an active connection to the mainframe nor mainframe know - how are required - the existing backup and recovery files from the mainframe, such as Db2 imagecopies, z/OS archive log files or IMS Unloads, Adabas unload, and PLOG files as well as sequential and VSAM files can be used. The data is transferred compressed and data transfer processes can be performed in parallel. The included data repository and an intuitive GUI create full transparency on the existing mainframe data and require no mainframe skills.

This is the ideal alternative or complementary solution to Change Data Capture based data exchange technologies to transfer mainframe data to your AWS targets for Big Data, Analytics, Business Intelligence, ERP, CRM, or for application modernization or mainframe offload initiatives.

It includes powerful transformation logic to handle the challenges of mainframe data conversion to suit your AWS cloud targets (i.e. EBCDIC to ASCII or Unicode conversion, binary format conversions, handling of packed fields, sophisticated date format conversions, etc.).

Bring up the tcVISION AMI on AWS, completely configured and maintained. A local PostgreSQL database is the repository and target, with sample files and scripts included. This listing requires a separate license provided by Treehouse Software. (BYOL)

    Highlights

    tcVISION deployment

The template instanciates a machine with tcVISION installed and preconfigured.

    CloudFormation Template (CFT)

AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
