ECS Fargate Instance deployment using CloudFormation Template

    Supported services: Learn more
    • Amazon ECS
    Container image

Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.

    Usage instructions

When deploying the ECS Fargate instance and other important services using the CloudFormation template, please ensure the following:

    1. AWS Account Permissions: Ensure that the user launching the CloudFormation stack possesses the necessary permissions to create resources defined in the template, including ECS clusters, Task Definitions, VPC, CloudFormation Stack, S3 Bucket, and IAM roles. It is recommended to use the us-east-1 region.

    2. Access to Services: Verify that the user has adequate access to services required by the CloudFormation template, such as Amazon ECS, Amazon S3, and Amazon VPC. Configure IAM roles and policies to grant the necessary permissions for creating these resources.

    3. Launching the Stack: The CloudFormation template link can be found under the Deployment Template section below. When users click on the CloudFormation link, it will initiate the download of the template to their local machine. Afterward, navigate to the AWS CloudFormation console, select "Create stack," and choose the downloaded template. Follow the step-by-step instructions to configure stack parameters, ensuring that default names (e.g., ServiceName, BucketName) remain unchanged. Note : Please disregard the container images section, as we have already provided a CloudFormation template that facilitates the configuration for launching the app.

    4. Post-Deployment Steps: After successfully creating the stack, confirm the ECS Fargate instance's deployment. Access the application URL or endpoint from the output section of the stack to ensure proper functionality.
