Full SQL Support - All data sources appear as standard relational databases, allowing you to perform operations - Filter, Group, Join, etc. - using standard SQL, regardless of whether these operations are supported by the underlying API.
CRUD Support - Both read and write operations are supported, restricted only by security settings that you can configure in Connect or downstream in the source itself.

Pricing and entitlements for this product are managed outside of AWS Marketplace through an external billing relationship between you and the vendor. You activate the product by supplying an existing license purchased outside of AWS Marketplace, while AWS provides the infrastructure required to launch the product. Subscriptions have no end date and may be cancelled any time. However, the cancellation won't affect the status of an active license if it was purchased outside of AWS Marketplace.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions

Running CData Connect in EC2 is easy. Simply launch a new API Server AMI from EC2, and configure the EC2 instance type, instance details, volume, tags, and security group. The last step of the process will prompt you to create a new key-pair, or select an existing one. Once the instance has been launched, it will be listed in your EC2 running instances. You can then access the API Server through your browser at the URL: https://instance_public_DNS In order to log-in, the default username is "admin", and the password is the instance's randomly generated Instance-ID, which you can find from the EC2 Management Console. After agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you will be able to create connections and configure your connections. This edition requires obtaining a licensing through the CData website. Easy to connect to cloud. I have used this in tableau to connect to cloud database.

What do you dislike about the product?

None. Actually this works best to connect to cloud databases unlike the other odbc and jdbc connectors

What do you like best about the product?

Every facet of modern business is powered by data. Everyone has access to the data they require whenever and wherever they need it thanks to CData Connect Cloud. In the cloud, real-time data communication means there is no need for complicated data pipelines, installations, or delays.

What do you dislike about the product?

it's a cloud-based solution, it could be vulnerable to outages or downtime if the servers that host the solution experience any problems. Additionally, because the solution is managed by a third-party provider, users could have less control over how the solution is configured or updated.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I used to connect disparate data sources and create a unified view of the data, which can then be used for reporting, analytics, or other business purposes. This can be especially useful for organizations that have a lot of data stored in different places, such as on-premises databases, cloud-based applications, or even proprietary systems.

When connecting Looker Studio to CData Connect Cloud, it is important to ensure that your data is secure. CData Connect Cloud does not encrypt data in transit or at rest, so it is important to take steps to secure your data yourself.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our business can easily be the main focus instead of our data pipelines. We can simply manage all of our data in the cloud, on-prem, or in a hybrid environment with the help of straightforward, enterprise-level ETL/ELT integration technologies.
